New NEX Range – WOW!

Like the heading of this post, we have one thing to say about the new NEX range – WOW!

We’ll start from the beginning, the new NEX-C3. While this is the toddler of the range it still packs a great amount of punch. Its slim design will definitely cater for those wanting to hold onto the idea of a compact camera but definitely won’t compromise on quality featuring 16.1 Megapixels, a beautiful Exmor APS HD CMOS Sensor and a tiltable 3″ LCD Screen making shooting video or taking photos at awkward angles a breeze.

Next in line is the NEX-5N. Where to start… It was comfortable with a slightly larger hand grip than the C3, lightweight which is spot on for the demographic of which the NEX range typically attracts and wait for it, 16.1 Megapixels, ISO 25600 and 10 frames per second shooting! For those that like taking video the C5 also shoots AVCHD progressive Full HD movies with the highest of quality stereo sound equivalent to that of a Blu-ray disc media at 60p.

Last but definitely not least we have the gold label NEX, the NEX-7! This camera will have you all wondering just how Sony manage to do what they do best – 24.3 Megapixels (that’s equivalent to the A77!), a body of perfection with a gorgeous leather like finish, dials that allow you to easily change the colour balance, aperture and ISO with a easy press of the thumb. The 7 has definitely raised the bar in the compact pro range and it will be an all mighty feat for other brands to contend with. Something the team from Sony were excited about was the black 18-55mm lens that accompanied the NEX-7, unique to the 7, this lens you won’t see on any other in the series.

While we’re talking lenses the new NEX lens range have also all had an upgrade, they’re sharp, smooth, have a shallow depth of field and are bright – the range is pure optical gold!
