NEW : Nikon D3100
Weighing in at a tiny 450g, the Nikon D3100 is a great new entry level DSLR for those who want to get a bit more serious about their photography.
Equipped with Nikon’s new DX format 14.2 megapixel CMOS sensor, and the new EXPEED image processing system, the D3100 is capable of delivering exceptionally clear images in most lighting conditions.
The D movie function allows the user to capture HD video footage with ease. The incamera movie editing functions give shooters the opportunity to save a single frame as a still image or delete unnecessary portions from the beginning or end of movie files. And thanks to full autofocus and the inheritance of the D3000’s popular ‘Guide Mode’ even novice photographers will be able to move around the menu functions quickly and easily. The Assist Mode even allows them to preview what the difference will be to their shots if they move up and down f-stops.
While the Auto Scene mode takes the guess work out of crafting shots – thus easing the transition from compact camera to DSLR… Add to this all the usual features we’ve grown accustomed to including Live View and a Face Detection function that can recognise up to 35 faces (a big step up from the D3000’s 5) and you have a camera that will take the novice to expert in no time.
