New Sony Action Cam Announced – HDRAS50
Sony have just announced the new HDRAS50 which will be joining their line-up of Action Cameras. This CES announcement is definitely a welcomed one, it boasts some of the biggest features found in an mid-level action camera.
11.1MP Exmor R CMOS Sensor – Excellent Low-light Performance
The HDRAS50 Action Cam features an 11.1MP Exmor R CMOS Sensor- which results in excellent image quality, even when shooting in low-light environments. The back-lit Exmor R CMOS Sensor is the only choice for recording crisp, clear footage in any conditions, where many other cameras would struggle.
XAVCs Full HD– Broadcast Quality Footage
The HDRAS50V Action Cam now offers the ability to record in the XAVC-S Full HD codec, in a variety of different frame rates to suit any situation or activity. Users can shoot XAVCs Full HD 1080 120p, 100p, 60p, 50p, 30p, 25p (28Mbps) and XAVCs HD 720 240p/200p (28Mbps), providing quality and framerate options for any situation.
Advanced Steadyshot Image Stabilisation* – Shake Free Images
Sony’s Action Cam models are the only POV cameras on the market to feature built-in image stabilisation. Sony’s industry-leading advanced ‘Steadyshot’ image stabilisation is 3 times more effective that previous models, giving you the best shake-free footage possible, no matter what the situation is.
Highlight Movie Maker*
Improved for 2016, Highlight Movie Maker feature makes it easy for users to record and share movie highlights. Accompanied by sophisticated transition effects, users can select preferred background music with footage, and add slow and fast motion, all without using a PC. In addition, PlayMemories Home lets the user transfer to desired pieces of music to the Action Cam.
In addition to internal improvements, the AS50 takes advantage of the lessons learned from previous Action Cam models. An improved screen, icon-based menu, on-body tripod thread, flat-lens housing, louder record confirm beep, additional tally lights, 60M included housing and a range of other features all help to make the AS50 the best entry level Action Cam ever.
