Photo Friday After Dark Winner – Kris!
What camera did you use?
I used a Sony A350 DSLR, with a 50mm f1.4 Lens
What settings did you use?
It was a 20 sec Exposure @ f6.3, ISO 100
What inspired this shot?
The reason I took the shot is, we had just moved into a new apartment and I guess my way of enjoying the view is to take pictures. After a while I
get bored with the straight up Landscape sort of images, so I like to explore different angles. It keeps things interesting.
Did you edit this image, if so what did you do and with what program?
I did take the image into Photoshop, and played around with contrast and sharpening as an effect. I also like to add colour casts to images, so this
one I added some magenta and I think some cyan in the bottom!?
Do you have any advice for our community of photographers?
My advice would probably be to not be afraid to do something different; a lot of people are used to seeing beautifully aligned horizontal landscapes
with bright over saturated colours. If you can look at a scene from a different angle, it can sometimes bring the dull and ordinary to life.
Where was this photo taken?
The photo was taken in the west end of the Melbourne CBD, from my balcony.
