Photo Friday – BLUE & PEACE – Charles Kosina
‘Photo Friday’ is a weekly photography competition that Camera House Australia runs. Every week we choose a new theme and prize, and this week the winner was Charles Kosina who entered this Perfect image for the theme: BLUE & PEACE.
We asked Charles a few questions about his image, and this is what he had to say:
The photo is of Patricia Lake near Jasper, Alberta, Canada. There is much beauty in the Canadian Rockies and this was one of our favourite places. We first visited there in July 2012 and loved the place so much that we returned in August 2013. Having a cabin right next to the lake made it easy to take early morning photos with the light just right, and with no wind, near perfect reflections. As with many lakes in Canada, the water is beautifully clear.
The camera used was a Canon EOS 550D, settings were ISO 200, f/13, 1/200 sec. The lens used was a Sigma 10-20 mm at 10 mm (16 mm full frame equivalent). Date of image 21/08/2013. The RAW image was processed in Adobe Raw and then further adjusted in Photoshop.
What advice do I have to photographers? Always carry your camera, learn how to use the settings, join a camera club and enter in competitions to hone your skills. But most of all have fun in taking photos.
