Photo Friday Discovery Winner – Josh
What camera did you use? Canon 5D MK II
What settings did you use? ISO- 100 f/2.8 1/250
What inspired this shot? Freedom/Escape/A new start – I wanted to capture the feeling of someone leaving home for the first time. I aimed for the old country type feel, dressed myself up and headed to the old tracks (Self-portrait – Remote in the right hand)
Did you edit this image, if so what did you do and with what program? – I use Aperture for light adjustments and image handling. I then ran this through Photomatix Pro as a single image over three exposures. After this I cleaned things up with Nik Software and some quick recipes I have created.
Do you have any advice for our community of photographers? – Look for locations and ideas all the time, if you have an idea and can’t shoot it write it down. Try to add some wow factor to your image, add props/models/lights.. whatever? Get out shooting with other people, have Fun! (Enter camera house theme based comps to keep you shooting new things)
Where was this photo taken? Brisbane Australia, Hamilton area. There is a small dirt track in between a few old buildings and you can drive in. Every now and then you get lucky with some old trains in here.
