Photo Friday Funny Winner – Alison
What camera did you use? I used my first digital SLR which was my Canon 400D with 50mm f1.8 lens (both of which I have upgraded).
What settings did you use? I used an exposure of 1/25 at f11 and ISO 200 and on a tripod.
What inspired this shot? I had seen a few egg photos around with people’s faces photoshopped into them so they appear to be real. I wanted to do a different spin on the photo and make them look cartoony but still capture the viewer’s attention through their emotions so I searched around and adapted their faces from emoticons that are used in messages. I used black texter and liquid paper. I took the image for one of the Canon Photo5 briefs on SPLAT back in October 2009.
Did you edit this image, if so what did you do and with what program? The image was taken as a single RAW. It is not a composite or manipulated image. The image was processed using Photoshop CS3. Levels to blacken the background, exposure and curves adjustments.
Do you have any advice for our community of photographers? Enter as many photo challenges as you can whether they are comps to win prizes or fun groups. It’s all experience and learning. Be creative and think outside the box. Look on the net for ideas but be careful, don’t copy anyone’s photo.
Where was this photo taken? It was taken in my backyard in natural light. It was set up on a table with a black fabric background. I used a piece of Perspex for the reflection and to make cleaning up less messy.
