Settings for shooting Astro photos (exposure triangle and how it relates)

Obtaining manual focus and why this is important

Understanding how to obtain a nice composition when it’s dark

Adding a human element into your night shots

Using lighting to illuminate a foreground (LitraPro)

Apps to help you plan your night shoots

What you need to bring:

Camera with lens (wide angle preferred but there will be available equipment to try on the night), charged batteries, SD Card, sturdy tripod, head torch (if you have one) warm jacket and warm clothing.

$50 from your registration fee can be redeemed on the purchase of a Samyang lens through Croydon & Ringwood Camera House.

A little about Benjamin Eriksson

I have used photography to tell my stories and my clients for over 9 years.

Melbourne based Workshop, Corporate Headshot, Life Style and Events photographer. I love to teach, and run varying photography related workshops across Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, Australia. Since 2017, I’ve enjoyed teaching over 450 people on photography workshops and at photography industry events. My personal work is heavily influenced by atmospheric optical phenomena; and my photography style is a direct reflection of my personality: creative, curious, adventurous, passionate, enthusiastic and fun. My love for photography is between the hours of sunset and sunrise. I love photographing the stars, moon and any astrological event when clear skies allow. I am an Ambassador for Samyang Optics Australia, Benro Australia, Tenba Bags Australia, Nanlite Australia and Athabasca Filters Australia.

Look forward to meeting you!
