Features derived from Panasonic broadcast cameras

Getting this kind of quality has traditionally meant purchasing a broadcast camera that is very large, and costs a lot more than the GH5S. In a first for LUMIX, the GH5S incorporates Dual Native ISO technology delivering a maximum ISO of 51200. Essentially the GH5S has dual circuitry from the sensor, one designed for normal shooting and the other circuit optimised for high ISO shooting

Dual Native ISO was originally developed for Panasonic’s Varicam broadcast cameras.

This capability has received critical acclaim from professional cinematographers who need to work creatively in challenging lighting conditions without compromise.

A serious commercial solution

It’s an ideal solution for a professional wedding videographer who uses a run and gun camera like the GH5 for daytime shoots, but also needs a tripod-mounted camera to capture speeches in low-light at the reception without any loss in quality.

The GH5S’s 10bit 422 video recording in 4K resolution offers cinematic quality, subtle gradations and provides a lot more editing flexibility for the serious film maker.

Videographers will love that the GH5S also offers slow motion at 240 frames per second in Full HD and offers 4K quality at 60 frames per second. This higher frame rate is perfect for capturing very natural motion for applications such as documentary film making and news reporting.

Designed for shooting on the go

The GH5S features a magnesium alloy weather sealed construction making it a great choice for professionals who rely on their equipment to perform well in any environment. For use in the field, it also has a 3.6 million dot OLED viewfinder and as expected the GH5S has Bluetooth & Wi-Fi connectivity for remote shooting and sharing with other devices like your smartphone.

The Dual SD UHS-II card slots also provide you with flexibility enabling you to back up your data to the second SD card slot. These features make the GH5S the best choice for wedding & event videographers, documentary photographers & film makers where you’re shooting a once in a lifetime moment and your income and reputation rely on your ability to capture the moment.

Amazing images

The GH5S features Panasonic’s Dual IS2 technology which combines 5 axis internal stabilisation with the Optical image stabilisation in selected lenses to provide up to 5.5 stops of image stabilisation, this is even at telephoto focal lengths. The result – Razor sharp results at slower shutter speeds and ISO values when taking photos, and incredibly stable handheld videos.

Amazing technology

A myriad of serious features abound, appealing to the studio and movie photographer. The GH5S offers unlimited recording time, heat dissipation, weather sealing and Time Code connection for interfacing with broadcast camera equipment.
