Pentax Launches The MX-1

Compact cameras are definitely not as popular as they used to be with the smartphone now perceived to give the same results. Pentax have noticed this and have decided to take on the feedback and transform the “traditional” compact into a highly featured new generation compact.

It features a beautiful 12 Megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor at 1/1.7 inches, a wide f/1.8 4x Optical Zoom lens with a focal length of 28-112mm, a built-in pop up flash, ISO 100-12800 sensitivity, ability to shoot both JPEG and RAW, brass top and bottom plates, Intelligent Zoom which can get a 7.8x coverage without losing quality and a beautiful 3″ tilt LCD screen.

The MX-1 also has 30 frames per second 1080P HD recording and 60 frames per second recording at 720P which will make video playback impressive and desirable when playing back on your high def television at home.

With all of these features you would come to expect battery life to be an issue however Pentax have announced that the Lithium Ion Battery they have engineered will last for 290 shots between charges which is perfect for those long days out and about. A memory never missed.
