Photo Friday – BLACK & WHITE – Michael Jones
‘Photo Friday’ is a weekly photography competition that Camera House Australia runs. Every week we choose a new theme and prize, and this week the winner was Michael Jones who entered a incredible image for the theme: BLACK & WHITE.
We asked Michael a few questions about his image, and this is what he had to say:
Q.What inspired this photo?
A. The inspiration for this photo comes from the bluestone bridge the steam train travelled under. Photographing the train travelling beneath a bridge that has been around nearly as long as steam trains in Australia (1860) was a logical pairing both historically and visually.
Q.What camera did you use?
A. I currently shoot with a Canon 7D and for this photo used a Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L lens
Q. What setting did you use?
A. Tv Shutter Priority – 1/500sec, f/4.5, ISO 250 with a tripod
Q.Did you edit this image, if so what did you do and with what program?
A. I shoot RAW, processed the photo to B&W using Lightroom, and final adjustments in Photoshop
Q. Do you have any advice for our community photographers?
A. To other photographers my advice – continue learning your equipment and enjoy what you do
