Photo Friday Winter Winner – David
What camera did you use? I used my Pentax Optio W20.
What settings did you use? I always had it on sport mode so i can only assume it was on sport mode.
What inspired this shot? I was skiing in Saas Fee in Switzerland with my team mates, and I wanted a group photo so I took my goggles off to look on the screen and set the timer and noticed that I could see everyone in the reflection of the goggles and it looked a lot more interesting that the typical group self-timed photo. I ended up using one of the girls’ goggles as you can see she’s not wearing hers because the lens was more mirror like, and I put them against a wooden post on a fence, and a black behind the lens to make it darker behind it so our reflection stood out more and for once I could be in one of my own photos and also see what it looked like as I was taking it. We stood back, and I zoomed in as far as I could and just took the photo.
Did you edit this image, if so what did you do and with what program? I think the only ‘editing’ that I did, was add some contrast, because that poor little camera doesn’t capture the colours so well.
Do you have any advice for our community of photographers? I appreciate the photo Friday win, but I also like that I was able to use such a simple camera to do it. And that really it was about the idea rather than about a good focus or zoom or taking it in a studio. (Which are all fine of course!) But I don’t have that fancy stuff.
I always have my camera with me and I just always think of how to take an image on a different angle because I get bored of just the typical photos. So I like to add some new angles and perspective to my things.
Where was this photo taken? Skiing in Saas Fee in Switzerland.
