Winner of the $20k Sports Club Nomination announced

Congratulations to Forbes Junior Cricket Club for winning the “Win $20,000 for your local sports club”.

Thanks to your nominator Julie Smith, your club will be able to get access to everything you mentioned in your nomination and hopefully a club lunch to celebrate the win.

“Forbes Junior Cricket is desperately in need of their practice nets being upgraded. There isn’t enough space for all the kids. The concrete is uneven and destroys the balls. The nets have holes and broken poles. The stumps are logs of wood. Some of the boys train every day. It would be wonderful to give them a safe place to train. Some of our best cricketers come from small country towns. Forbes could be the next town to produce great cricketers.”
