The aspheric lens at the front of the lens series helps minimise both vignetting and distortion. The aspheric lenses help minimise astigmatism and field curvature. The 35mm F1.4 DG HSM, FLD (“F” Low Dispersion) glass, which is equivalent to fluorite in its characteristics, and Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass optimize the power distribution of the lens.
