Being part of the Contemporary line within Sigma's Global Vision series, this incredible lens is designed to achieve a balance between convenience and performance and meshes a compact, lightweight build and versatile handling with remarkable optical attributes. The optical design offers a pair of aspherical elements, along with one high-refractive index element, which significantly reduces spherical aberrations and distortion for increased clarity and definition for a sharp quality image. A Super Multi-Layer Coating has been applied to control lens flare and ghosting in strong lighting conditions. Benefitting both stills shooting and video recording, this compact prime also incorporates a stepping AF motor for smooth, near-silent autofocus performance. The bright f/1.4 maximum aperture benefits working in low-light conditions and affords extensive control over depth of field for using selective focus techniques.

Excellent Performance

The bright f/1.4 maximum aperture excels in low light conditions and affords increased control over the depth of field for achieving selective focus effects. Normal-length prime is designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras and delivers a 60mm equivalent focal length. It is constructed using a Thermally Stable Composite (TSC) material for greater precision and uses in wide temperature variations. In addition, a brass bayonet affords improved rigidity and mounting accuracy. A stepping AF motor benefits videographers and photographers with its fast, precise, and near-silent performance.

Great Optical Design

A Super Multi-Layer Coating has been applied to lens elements in order to minimize lens flare and ghosting and contribute to delivering contrast-rich and color-neutral imagery, even in backlit conditions. The two aspherical elements and one high-refractive index element are used to limit distortion and spherical aberrations and contribute to greater overall accurate rendering and sharpness. The rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a smooth and pleasing bokeh quality.
