Beautiful bokeh and up-close photography

The seven-bladed aperture diaphragm increases the quality of out-of-focus areas, so your subject stands out against a soft, blurred background. Additionally, this lens boasts a minimal distance of 0.85 metres to shoot small subjects and the non-rotating front element makes using filters easy.

Image stabilisation

Canon's Image Stabilizer technology allows shutter speeds up to 3.5 stops slower than normal to be used whilst limiting the effects of camera shake. This lens also boasts stepping motor technology for smooth and quiet continuous focusing for video and fast, accurate auto focus for stills.
