Superior Image Quality
At the heart of the GR IV lies a newly developed APS-C-size back-illuminated CMOS sensor with approximately 25.74 effective megapixels, paired with the advanced GR ENGINE 7 imaging engine. This combination delivers images rich in detail, gradation, and colour fidelity. With a maximum sensitivity of ISO 204800, the camera excels in low-light conditions, producing clean images with minimal noise, thanks to the Ricoh-original accelerator unit that optimises the signal-to-noise ratio. Whether shooting in dim environments or bright daylight, the GR IV ensures stunning clarity and dynamic range.

Super-Slim High-Performance Lens
The GR IV features a newly designed GR LENS 18.3mm F2.8, equivalent to 28mm in the 35mm format, offering a perfect balance of wide-angle versatility and sharpness. Comprising seven elements in five groups, including glass-moulded aspherical lenses and high-refraction, low-dispersion glass, this lens minimises distortion and chromatic aberration while delivering edge-to-edge sharpness and high contrast. Its slim design keeps the camera’s profile compact, making it an ideal companion for street and travel photography.
Advanced Shake Reduction and Autofocus
Equipped with a five-axis Shake Reduction (SR) mechanism, the GR IV compensates for camera shake by up to six shutter steps for pitch, yaw, and roll, and four steps at the edges, ensuring sharp images during handheld or macro shooting. The autofocus system is equally impressive, with a lightning-fast 0.6-second start-up time, high-speed lens driving, and an optimised image-plane phase-matching system for precise focusing, even in low-light conditions. Switching to macro mode or storing the lens is seamless, enhancing the camera’s quick-shooting capabilities.

Compact and Durable Design
Crafted from high-rigidity magnesium alloy, the GR IV measures approximately 109.4mm wide, 61.1mm high, and 32.7mm deep (lens at 31.3mm, body at 24.5mm), weighing just 262g with battery and memory card. The redesigned body features a contoured thumb grip for a secure hold and a dial-type mode adjustment lever for intuitive operation. Customisable controls, including front and rear e-dials, exposure compensation button, ADJ dial, and Fn button, allow for a tailored shooting experience, while the slim profile ensures portability without sacrificing durability.
Versatile Exposure and Creative Modes
The GR IV offers flexible exposure options, including Program AE with a new Program Auto Ex function for instant shifts to Aperture-Priority or Shutter-Priority AE via the dials. The Snap Distance-Priority AE mode enhances depth-of-field control for dynamic snapshots. For creative expression, the Image Control function includes 12 modes, such as a new Cinema mode with yellow or green tones for a nostalgic film-like aesthetic, alongside Monotone, High-contrast B&W, Negative Film, Positive Film, Bleach Bypass, and more. Adjustable parameters like saturation, hue, contrast, grain effect, strength, and size, plus savable custom modes, allow for personalised visual styles.
