Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Series Lens - Leica L-Mount is designed to achieve remarkable notable optical performance and is perfectly suited for artistic and creative applications. It is a unique wide-angle prime designed to produce high-resolution, well-corrected imagery. Being part of the Art line of lenses, this incredible lens has a focus on image quality and rendering and utilizes both FLD and SLD glass elements to control chromatic aberrations and colour fringing for remarkable clarity. The four aspherical elements, including the front large-diameter precision-moulded glass element, also contribute to reducing distortion and spherical aberrations for improved sharpness and accuracy. Super Multi-Layer Coating has been applied to individual elements to suppress lens flare and ghosting for greater contrast when working in strong lighting. This prime wide-angle lens is designed for full-frame Leica L-mount mirrorless cameras, however, it can also be used with APS-C models where it will deliver a 21mm equivalent focal length. It features a bright f/1.8 maximum aperture that is well-suited for working in the low and difficult lighting environment.

Great Features and Performance

The integrated Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) realizes quick and quiet autofocusing, which is further complemented by an optimized AF algorithm to produce smoother focusing performance. The HSM permits full-time manual focus control simply by rotating the focus ring at any moment. The lens is constructed using a Thermally Stable Composite (TSC) material, along with traditional metals, for greater precision and use in wide temperature variations. For ensured accuracy and durability, the bayonet mount is constructed from brass. Also, rubber sealing is incorporated in the mount design to render it dust- and splash-resistant. The three F Low Dispersion (FLD) and four Special Low Dispersion (SLD) elements are offered in the optical design and help to reduce colour fringing and chromatic aberrations for improved clarity and colour accuracy. The four aspherical elements, including one large, 80mm-diameter precision-moulded glass aspherical element, help to minimize distortion and spherical aberrations for improved sharpness.
