The technical details behind this lens
Capture great shots with the help of Sigma 20mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Series Lens - Nikon. This lens features a fast f/1.4 maximum aperture that is perfectly suited for working in low-lighting environments and delivers greater control over the focus position when using shallow depth of field techniques. Offering a Super Multi-Layer Coating, this feature has been applied to lens elements in order to minimise lens flare and ghost effects and contribute to producing contrast-rich and colour-neutral imagery, even in backlit conditions. In regard to the optical design, this lens uses two FLD, five SLD, and two aspherical elements to correct chromatic aberrations throughout the entire focusing range and help to ensure high image sharpness, clarity, and contrast regardless of focus point or aperture setting. The integrated Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) realizes quick and quiet autofocusing, which is further complemented by an optimized AF algorithm to achieve smoother focusing performance. The Hyper Sonic Motor allows full-time manual focus control simply by rotating the focus ring at any given moment.

Our expert's opinion
The Sigma 20mm 1.4 DG HSM Art is a state-of-the-art wide-angle prime lens designed for Full Frame cameras but will work with APS-C sensors as well. Using over 50 years of lens-making experience, particularly the knowledge gained from the 35mm 1.4 Art and the 24mm 1.4 Art, the 20mm 1.4 Art is the widest large aperture Art lens to date.
