Join the team from Camera House Geelong and Sony Digital Imaging Advocate Dylan Giannakopoulos on 26-28 November for a unique Sony photography experience along the Great Ocean Road. This is a rare opportunity to capture Australia’s most iconic coastline from sunrise to sunset, shoot astro, and even photograph the 12 Apostles from a helicopter.

Day 1 – Friday: 2:00pm-11:30pm

The Sony Alpha Weekend starts with a brief presentation. Guests will get their pick of Sony’s latest and greatest e-mount lenses and cameras to loan for the weekend. Guests check in to their accommodation and then we head out for a sunset shoot with Dylan. We will have a group dinner together, relax a bit before heading out for an astrophotography session to finish off day 1.

Day 2 – Saturday: 8:00am-11:30pm

The second day starts nice and early with a sunrise shoot (dependent on the astrophotography session please see below). Afterwards, we will have a lovely breakfast at a local café in Port Campbell. By then, we will all need to take a break, rest up, and maybe have a nap. At about midday, we’ll re-group and travel to Port Campbell national park to board our private charted, doors-off helicopter flight with 12 Apostles Helicopters. Everyone will have the opportunity to shoot from a window seat. To cap things off, we will go out for another sunset and astrophotography session in the evening.

Day 3 – Sunday: 8:00am-11:00am

After two big days of shooting, we will finish up with a short debrief session and return any loan equipment before we depart for our trip home. The team from Camera House Gelong will have a pop-up shop set up and have some very special prices for all guests.

Tickets are limited and will sell out fast, so hurry and book now!

In line with the Victorian Government’s Roadmap, guests will need to be fully vaccinated to attend this event. Whilst these restrictions may ease if we hit 90% of 12+ fully vaccinated by the indicative date of 24th November, venues and businesses may still fuse service or entry to those who are unvaccinated. If you will hold a medical exemption and would like to attend, please email PRIOR to booking.

It is expected that all guests practice social distancing and follow all State Government Health directives as advised. If you have symptoms, are being tested and awaiting results, have tested positive, or have come in contact with anybody who has recently tested positive for COVID-19, you must not attend the event. Please contact us prior to the event if you fall into one of the above categories to arrange a refund.

Please note the helicopter flights and astrophotography portions of the event are weather dependent. Depending on the conditions, the doors may need to remain on the helicopter for safety reasons and in extreme cases, the flights may need to be postponed to the Sunday. Due to the start and finish times of the astrophotography and sunrise sessions in November, the sunrise component will only proceed if the astrophotography session prior is cancelled due to the weather.
