It has an electronically controlled shutter, providing users with a very fast 1/8000 second shutter speed to 30 seconds. It has also ISO 100 to 51200 sensitivity and a recording capability of up to 4K UHD @ 30 frames per second. It also utilises TTL metering using the main image sensor for great movie shots and provides 1/3 step increments and has a flash compensation of -3 to +1 EV. This camera is compatible with the SnapBridge app and has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, Type C USB connector, Type D HDMI connector, and Stereo mini-pin jack. It is also designed with tilting 3.2-inch touchscreen. This camera is powered with EN-EL15c rechargeable Li-ion battery, providing about 115 minutes of movie recording with the viewfinder. It measures 134 mm x 100.5 mm x 69.5 mm and weighs approximately 590 grams.

It utilises a stepping motor for fast, quiet, and accurate focusing and electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism for accurate control for continuous shooting. This zoom lens also features Nikon’s Vibration Reduction in-lens technology for more stabilised imaging and the IF technology for closer focusing distance of 0.35m. Its optics features Nikon Super Integrated Coating that effectively minimises ghost and flares for better colour reproduction and optical performance. This camera lens has a maximum angle of view of 84° and provides 2x zoom ratio.
