This lens features a rounded 11-blade diaphragm that contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality. A double focus system employs both a linear motor and a stepping motor to provide precise, fast, and quiet autofocus performance. A focus clutch mechanism has been included, which enables near-instant AF/MF switching. In regard to the optical design, the One aspherical element helps to minimise distortions and spherical aberrations throughout the zoom range. The two ultra extra-low dispersion elements and three extra-low dispersion elements significantly reduce chromatic aberrations and colour fringing in order to achieve a high degree of clarity and colour accuracy.
