Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens - Micro Four Thirds
The technical details behind this lens
Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens - Micro Four Thirds offers great features and a reliable design. Distinguished by its bright f/1.4 maximum aperture, this lens is adept at working in low-lighting environments and affords increased control over depth of field for selective focus control. In regard to the optical design, this lens uses two Special Low Dispersion (SLD) elements and three F Low Dispersion (FLD) elements to reduce colour fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to produce greater clarity and colour accuracy. The two aspherical elements are used to limit distortion and spherical aberrations and contribute to greater overall sharpness and accurate rendering. This lens also features a rounded nine-blade diaphragm that contributes to a smooth and pleasing bokeh quality.
Super Multi-Layer Coating
This feature has been applied to lens elements in order to reduce lens flare and ghost effects and contribute to producing contrast-rich and colour-neutral imagery, even in backlit conditions.
More Excellent Features
A stepping AF motor benefits both videographers and photographers with its fast, precise, and near-silent performance. A rubber sealing is incorporated in the mount design to render it splash- and dust-resistant. For ensured accuracy and durability, the bayonet mount is constructed from brass.
