This lens features 23 elements in 17 groups, including five low dispersion lens elements and an extra-low dispersion element for its optical construction. It is also equipped with Ultrasonic Silent Drive and Vibration Compensation technology with three modes.

This camera lens boasts of its Vibration Compensation image stabilisation technology, which compensates for camera shakes. It provides performance of up to 5 stops in VC mode 3 when Nikon D810 is used. This VC has three modes, with one dedicated for panning.
