Camera House Photo Friday Competition

What is Photo Friday at Camera House?

Photo Friday is a weekly competition hosted by Camera House HQ every Friday with the goal to build a strong photographic community across all our social media channels and showcase some amazing talent from the Camera House community online. Over the past few years, we have seen some awesome photos taken by you and it amazes us how much talent and passion we see in each photo submitted.

The Camera House judges are individuals who are experienced in the photographic industry with completely different styles and takes on photography. Every Friday morning, the battle begins to choose the next Photo Friday winner. With a coffee in one hand and a notepad in another the battle is on and although our judges have different styles of photography and look for different things in an image, they can all agree on one thing which is…… The winner chosen must meet our high expectations.

Following the theme of the week, the creative and unique images submitted by our photographers have a high chance of winning the GOLDEN PRIZE! A $200 Camera House gift card. We don’t look for happy snaps and iPhone photos, we look for images that tell a story and have meaning behind them.

A word from the judges:

The judges would like to outline a few things that have affected their votes for certain images in the past.

It is recommended that you do not put a border around your photo submission. It takes away from your photo and can be very distracting. Watermarks are excepted, however please make sure they do not dominate your image. A small, transparent watermark in the corner of your image is all that is needed. Please don’t put your watermark over an important area of your shot – no watermark is preferred.

The judges recommend you use the caption to give us as much info as possible about your photo. In the past descriptive captions have allowed us to understand your point of view and have been a big part of your photo being selected.

The following is a guide only, but please note images have been rejected in the past due to distracting elements such as watermarks and borders.

We look forward to seeing you weekly submissions and from the entire Camera House team we wish you the best of luck!
